The night before the night before…
‘Twas the night before the night before Christmas, and all through the town,
Every single creature was scurrying every which way around.
They were trying to buy up their presents before the shops closed,
And get home by dark before all the streets froze. :)
A little poem to end a bit of a hectic day… then again, I guess every year it turns out that the night before the night before Christmas is going to be the time when you try to get everything done and ready for the holiday. We’re not really having a big to-do, but it’s the small things that make it special, and the small things take time, so that’s what I was working on today… stocking stuffers, candied pecans, etc.
Our first Christmas in Cambridge, our first Christmas as Collin and Candice +1, and our first Christmas away from family. We’ll miss everyone, I’m sure… but we have so much to be thankful for, it’s hard to be anything but very very happy. Hope everyone’s preparations are going well. I’m going down for a long winter’s nap, and I’m looking forward to spending the next couple of days doing very little with people whose kindness and generosity has made our life in the UK a blessed one.
